What does disabling email in admin>settings>email settings actually do?
We have tried disabling email in the admin panel (Administration > Settings > Email Settings) and it does not remove any email-dependent functions from the UI. Does anybody know what this setting actually does?

Is there any issues with this? I only use the site for 1 domain, private family and do not see the need for the cost of 2008 Pro. We have less than 15 picture groups, and that was my only concern. Thanks
